Regular Season Round 8: Viola - Pardubice 49-88

There was no surprise when 75th ranked ItalianViola (2-2) was crushed by first ranked Czech Pardubice (7-1) 88-49 on Friday. The game without a history. Pardubice led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Viola to just 2 points in first quarter. Pardubice held Viola to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Viola 47-32 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pardubice looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Viola 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Tomas Dalecky who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Dominik Hodek who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Pardubice players scored in double figures. Alessandro Damato responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Lorenzo Ripepi scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pardubice have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Loser Viola dropped to the twenty eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with 16 other teams.
